Or, rather, the very early morning. My flight leaves in about 5 hours and I’ve yet to sleep at all. It’s that moment when you look at the clock and think that you might just as well stay awake, and I’m not sure what side of that fence I’m on.
I’ve finished packing, one thing down. My backpack is incredible, and I have a great “duffel” cover that fits over it so that checking the whole deal is pretty easy. Everything is compact, efficient, etc. I figure I might as well have one thing going for me, since traveling — especially these days — is such a pain in the arse.
Aside from my arguably award-winning luggage ensemble, though, I’m not that excited, and haven’t been for the last few days — more exhausted, I think. It’s been a really busy week of visiting, attending meetings and prepping…all good stuff, but not without it’s consequences. I’m also already missing loved ones (i.e., you), and though I don’t regret planning this for a second, I’m certainly not 100% ready for the inevitable groundlessness that is about to become my foundation until May.
I have two layovers tomorrow, the first in (naturally) New York, and the second in Hong Kong. The nonstop to China will be 16 hours. No complaints, because I’m sure I’ll need the time for (i) sleep; (ii) creating the kids yoga training I’m scheduled to teach on Wednesday; and (iii) maybe reviewing the travel guide I haven’t cracked.
Maybe. Or maybe just sleep.

Efficient packing – that’s my girl! I know you’ll have an amazing time. I’m so proud of you for embarking on this amazing adventure. Can’t wait to hear more.
